We are getting geared up to head back to Hartsville South Carolina to perform at RenoFest 2009. As the returning State Bluegrass Band Champions, we get to open for Claire Lynch, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out and (of course) Ronnie Reno and the Reno Tradition.

HERMITAGE, PA – Local bluegrass band Church Street Blues recently won top honors in the RenoFest 2008 State Bluegrass Band Championship, held March 21 in Hartsville, S.C. RenoFest is always held the fourth weekend in March and honors South Carolina bluegrass legend Don Reno.
Scott Pearson was recently sponsored by Bletcher Violins. He is now playing a fine fiddle by local luthier Leonard Bletcher of Clarendon, PA. The new violin was played in the Church Street Blues segment of the recent show “Valley That Changed the World” aired on WQED on April 16th. WQED TV aired Church Street Blues performing their award winning song "Black Bubblin' Crude".
This song was chosen by the Oil 150 organization as the song to represent the 150th year of being the first commercial oil well of the world.
