Scott Pearson - fiddle, mandolin

Scott Pearson, has performed on stage with Del McCory, Little Roy Lewis, Lynn Morris, and the father of bluegrass Bill Monroe. Scott has earned the title of state fiddle champion in Pennsylvania and Maryland and has “placed” at Merle fest and Winfield on mandolin. His wide range of musical styles and skillful solos contribute a fresh dimension to the Church Street Blues sound. MORE...

Tom Carpenter - mandolin, vocals

Tom’s deep-rooted relationship with bluegrass can be traced back to his early childhood, where he heard Osborne Brothers recordings while on his father's knee! Tom grew up playing bluegrass in various Penn/Ohio regional bands including the Carpenter Family Band, the Bluegrass Buckeyes, and the popular "Shortline Junction", who has open for the Lewis Family and the Osborne Brothers. Tom brings the "traditional" roots to the group's style.

David Hamilton - bass, vocals

David's experience comes from recording & touring with gospel bands. He has open for groups such as the Oakridge Boys, Andre Crouch, Stamps, Imperials and the Rambos. He adds the “big” vocal style to the band with his leads, harmonies and vocal arrangements. His approach to bass playing also helps create the unique musical style that makes Church Street Blues popular.

Nelson Boosel – guitar, vocals

Nelson got his start at the age of 3 singing “You Aint’ Nothin’ but a Hound Dog” to every one’s surprise in a church service. Thru the years Nelson’s talent grew from performing rock-n-roll, country, bluegrass, and gospel. He has worked with gospel artists such as Pat Boone, Evie Tornquist, and Dallas Holm. His guitar playing and vocals provide the mortar and foundation for Church Street Blues’ musical style.

Jimmy Metz – banjo, dobro, vocals

Jimmy grew up playing along side one of America’s acoustic treasures – Jerry Douglas. Jimmy has performed with some of the greatest bluegrass artists such as Ricky Skaggs, JD Crow, Mac Wiseman, and the Whites. He is known for his driving banjo, and excellent tenor voice. The band’s sound is often set by Jimmy’s drive on either the banjo or dobro.
